Hell Part III: Nihlathak

Pratham and I entered Anya’s Portal. We fought off the courtyard and eventually Pindleskin. A magical circlet which sold for some fat cash was dropped. Since the Halls of Anguish only have two or three layouts, I knew where to go and I entered the Halls of Pain. I got the waypoint and fought off a Unique Putrid Defiler. It was cursed, and apparently hit one of us to curse us. I was amused to say the least. However, chasing Putrid Defilers wasn't my goal, retrieving the relic of the ancients was. Nihlathak had done one too many crimes, striking a deal with the devil and stealing Harrogath's most sacred treasure. I entered the Halls of Vaught and went down the closest path. I was stunned to find no monsters waiting for me. I advanced and got the quest log, I knew that Nihlathak was in this direction now. I went to town and PREPARED for the conflict.

I went back down and got close enough to see what mods Nihlathak had. they were easy, extra fast and teleportation. (he does this anyway) A large group of his monsters followed Pratham and I up a ways. We killed the pack and I did the rest. Eventually Nihlathak was mostly alone. I moved in for the kill. Pratham on the other hand thought it would be wiser to kill the few monsters we had left behind. It was not wise, in fact, it got me rather dead. I decided Pratham wasn't worth reviving so I did the rest alone. With only a few Stygian Harlots pegging me from the back I went to work on Nihlathak. He didn't last very long. I turned around and started making plenty of bodies with everything else in the area. I was satisfied with only getting laid out to dry once. I had planned for several more than that.

Anya allowed me to personalize a third item. I thought about getting a cracked sash. Realizing my name was SineNomine rather than Sashanan I figured it wouldn't be a very funny joke, so I just personalized the first thing I thought of, Sigon's boots. My next task will be the least envied task of anyone who plays Diablo II, killing the hell ancients with a cruel war scepter.
