Hell Part I: Acts I, II, III and Izual
Act I was it's typical boring self again. I raced through the den, initially being stunned at how strong the Zombies were. Being level 65, I was hoping for it to be easier. I completed the Den, got my skill point and went to Blood Raven. My phone rang so I walked away, by the time I had returned Pratham had taken care of the quest for me. I got my 'reward'(haha) and carried on. Seriously, is it asked too much for a free merc revival as a reward? I saved Cain as usual, once again NOT killing Rakinishu. The tower was a living nightmare. With only four percent mana leech and a rather expensive vengeance, I was unable to maintain it long enough to fight off packs of ghosts. Redemption took care of it when I was able to get one to the ground. I skipped floors three and four, just running through them. The Countess dropped me a shael rune and some crappy magical. The Smith was easier on this difficulty than he had been on either of the previous two. I picked up the malus, which I later used an imbue on a phase blade, which turned out crappy. I pretty much vigored my way around the Jail, Inner Cloister, Cathedral and the Catacombs until coming to this laughable image in the Catacombs level four. The only ways it could have been worse for the poor sap would be for me to have switched to holy freeze, cast decrepify with a charge and hit him with some slow gear. It was a pleasant change from the nightmare encounter down here. Andariel Was easy as well, her gems weren't such a good drop anymore since I wasn't collecting anything under the flawless level.
Act II was a less than fun adventure. The Sewers were somewhat easy, especially with redemption to clean up Radament's Lair. He went down without much of a fight. The Maggot lair wasn't too bad all things considered. The only physical immunes in there, itches, have VERY small amounts of hp and consistently fell in one or two swings of vengeance. Getting the Amulet of the Sun was easier. With no physical immunes in the area, Pratham and I just mowed our way through it all. We sprinted through the palace. This was easy since most of the floors always spawn identical. The Arcane Sanctuary I would rather forget about. I'm thankful, for the first time, the Summoner was on the first path I chose. Regardless of this blessing, it still took me the better part of an hour to get to him. Surprisingly I wasn't mowed down by a firewall. I got my symbol, which was a square. Tal Rasha's tomb was another anti-fun place. Of the enemy sets, one was uncommon, the second was unleechable and the third was immune to physical. Rather than killing anything, I pretty much ran up and down the corridors looking for the orifice. I put the staff in and entered Duriels small chamber. I've always wondered if he gets bored having only the company of an imprisoned Archangel. These thoughts were quickly pushed aside as Duriel pummeled me with a charge. This would be about the only damage I would take though as I whacked away at him. He fell to the ground, dropping godly scrolls of town portal again.
Act III had some interesting things happen. First, the Jade figurine was a laughing stock; partially because I didn't kill very often. I ran around finding waypoints and Khalim pieces. I did kill the Rat Man Champion who appeared at the gidbin, but he wasn't kind enough to drop me a figurine. I got to the Kurast Bazaar, entered the Ruined Temple, got mobbed. using a combination of Holy freeze, fanaticism and a few other Auras I was able to make a holy large enough to run through and vigor my way to the book. I gave it to Alkor and continued my mad dash up to the Travincal. This is where it gets ugly. Not only were the council members, two of them were entirely unkillable for me. I scattered them out and concentrated on the one I could kill. He dropped Khalim's flail and the Jade Figurine *BLING*. I made Khalim's will and vigored my way to the compelling orb and rushed into the Durance with a handful of enemies chasing me. Mephisto's council was not a bargain either. I pretty much got them all wedged in the far left room, tp'd to town, got my 20 life from Alkor, came down at the waypoint again running through the now open path to the right. Mephisto himself was perhaps the easiest enemy of the act. He dropped nothing, aside from a soul stone. I exited Kurast in perhaps my fastest non rush time ever.
I started Act IV getting an easy set of enemies in the Outer Steppes; Doom Knights, Venom Lords and Corpulents. I went counterclockwise around the area. The Plains of Despair were not so nice. Flesh Spawners, Burning Souls and Corpulents. The burning souls might sound like the bad monster here, however it was the Spawners spewing out their young. I found the City of the Damned before Izual. The waypoint was almost adjacent to the Entrance so I went ahead and got it. I back Tracked and eventually found Izual. The enemies around Izual gave me a level up (now 66). Izual proved to be a beating, for my weapon that is. As you can see my boredom got the best of me here.
I started the River of Flame and realize quickly how dead I was. My level was far too low for this. I decided to go back to nightmare and clear Act V several times with a cow run here and there. Eventually I returned to hell at level 78 with Pratham at level 76.
