Act 3 Nightmare: Enter: Good Luck

I entered act three and did something I had never done in years of playing. I read everyone Gossip menu. I found out I was more than lucky to make it into Kurast in one piece. I had no more than walked out of town when I encountered the pack of champions which dropped me another Jade Figurine. One would think after getting millions of these figurines from millions of players worldwide, Meshif wouldn't want them anymore, luckily for me that wasn't the case.

I got the waypoint but somehow missed the spider cavern. Rather than backtracking down the spider forest I just continued into the great marsh, where I as greeted by a gem shrine. It changed my only flawless skull into my second perfect skull.

I got the waypoint and stumbled upon the flayer jungle waypoint, located conveniently a few steps away. It was a long journey to find the gidbin, eventually I did though. I had to muscle my way through a couple Might enchanted packs of flayers and soul killers to get there though. The flayer dungeon was laid out perfectly. I didn't make a single wrong turn once, which might be the first time I've managed that in there. I gave Ormus the Gidbin, forgot to get my prize, and went back into the spider forest.

I ran all around the area finally coming to rest at the spider cavern. In all of my years of playing, this small dungeon had resulted in more deaths to me than just about anywhere. It nearly happened again, Czark the Burning with his lovely mods pounded away on Pratham and I alongside his allies the Poison Spinners and Flame Spiders. Eventually I was able to get rid of them all. This time something was different though, not only were they all dead, they left me the best item I have found to this point, the Peasants Crown! This quickly replaced my rare cap that I found way back in normal difficulty. after getting Khalims Eye I returned to town and collected my reward for the previously obtained Gidbin. I'm really glad Ormus didn't need this one.

The Kurast areas are where Pratham started to lose his appeal. He died close to ten times in these three areas, costing me just under 200,000 total. He was a great help in the Ruined temple though, helping me take out Battle maid Serina's swarm. The sewers weren't as bad this time, I found the stairs with ease, on my first wall. I picked up Khalims brain and supposedly learned Mephisto's weakness. (what, a level 99 mf sorc?)

After a long venture through the Upper Kurast I reached the Travincal. I got the waypoint and approached the high council. Due to my low level and their frightening mods, I was forced to quit and start again from the Travincal waypoint. This time the mods weren't as bad. Toorc Icefist had the worst of the three. Flamefinger was Fire enchanted, lightning enchanted and cursed as well. Having thought ahead though, I left plenty of room to spread them out and attack from awkward angles. After all three of them fell I composed Khalims will and shattered the compelling orb. I entered the Durance and wasted no time in my hunt for Mephisto. Bremm Sparkfist, was again sparkless. I only took on him and Voidbringer, but neither of them put up a good fight. I activated Mephisto and lured him a bit to the right, to avoid the evil forces. I was impressed with how easily Pratham and I were able to take him. Of course, he dropped nothing of value, but considering what I had already gotten in this act and how easy it was, I couldn't complain about it.
