Act 1: Lending the Sisters a Helping Hand
The journey begins, SineNomine, the noble paladin is greeted by Warriv at the center of the Rogue Encampment. Wasting no time, our hero leaves the camp heading into the blood moor, the goal, the den of evil. After fending off a sole quill rat, I stumbled into an experience shrine; some early luck, which wouldnt last much longer.
Not long later the den of evil showed itself. The den itself yielding items which got me the one thing I'd need most, gold. 3 rings, 1 amulet and a few chipped gems gave me enough gold to get a socketed weapon and two full tomes. Blood raven was surprisingly easy; however, my paladins reward was a lousy fire arrow mercenary.
I made the most of her though, equipping her with a magical hunters bow and a chipped ruby hard leather armor. She became the bulk of our damage as we began the search (like we dont know where he is) for Cain. After a long walk, around the entire dark wood, then I finally located Treehead Woodfist and got the scroll of infusis. Rakinishu previously ignored, for fear of dieing was a knot in my stomach now. Before killing him, he ran off, got away, so I decided I may as well count it as a blessing and entered Tristram. Clearing Tristram gave a level and a half of experience; along with two trips to Charsi for beating down Griswold and a stone skin skeleton archer. After consulting with Gheed the Countess proved to be a pushover, dropping an el rune.
The quest to the malus was a horrid one. Every monster that could be lightning enchanted, seemed to be just that; not a fun ride with a lightning resist of zero. The smith was also much harder than I think he's ever been before, causing me to drink a whole batch of minor healing potions, leaving me with only the light healing potions. I got the malus, decided it would be quite wise to save the imbue thinking a paladin unique isnt likely to fall on top of me anytime soon.
Finding the catacombs four took a great deal of time, considering I all but ran through the first floor of them. When I finally reached them I was level 15, I would get to 16 before activating Andariel. Annor and I drank up at the most convenient well I have ever seen before clearing the rooms. Sadly, this would be Annors last drink as she would die moments later to the hands of Andariel.
Using my leet Andy gear (a ring, a helmet, and boots which all had 25% poison duration reduction and a belt with 12 poison resist along with my large shield socketed with a chipped emerald) I was able to shrug off the bulk of the poison, but dont think I wasnt standing near
the well the hole time, just in case. The first act boss fell to the ground leaving me two useful items, a normal diamond and another chipped sapphire. I traveled with Warriv to the town of Lut Gholein. Warriv wasnt much of a conversationalist, but he did give me one piece of advice avoid Chalan, instead, I hired a different offensive mercenary, Hazade.
