Sine Nomine's Single Player Diablo II Quest
This site was created after reading about a player, playing single player, who was unable to beat the Hell Ancients. At first, I didn't think much of it. This was because I had never played alone, I went straight to close realm (USEast) from day one of the game. Since I had never done it before, I decided I would need to give it a try if I were to be able to help out on topics such as these. I set some rules up for myself as well. No hacking of any sort, this includes, but is not limited too, Map hack, Jamellas character Editor, item importing and playing in TCP/IP open bnet games in order to trade. I thought about characters, since the player in question was using a Paladin I decided I would as well. While Paladins are not my best class, I'm more than capable with them, at least, in the multiplayer setting.
The skills I intend to use are as follows
- 4 Zeal; enough to get the
maximum amount of swings. Since I see +skills gear unlikely, I'll have to
burn four points here.
- 20 Fanaticism; have to get
damage, speed and attack rating from somewhere.
- 1-10 Vengeance; I have not
decided how many point to put in here yet. While I would normally max it,
that is only because I have the gear to do so. It's more likely Ill
only be spending five points here.
- 1-10 Conviction; Again,
Normally I would max this as well, however, with the lack of gear and
skill points available it is likely to be around five as well. Good enough
for a -75 resistance and a great loss of defense.
- 15+ Holy Shield; I will
almost definitely have to max this one, mostly because it is a lot of mana
to cast, so I may as well get my duration use from it. While the defense
goes up quite a bit every time, the block chance suffers diminishing
returns almost immediately.
- 5-10 Redemption; This is used
for two purposes; 1. It may very well be my only form of leech, 2. it's one
of a very limited ways for a Paladin to remove corpses effectively
- 5 Vigor; Perhaps the most underrated
skill in the game. While it does little more than make you faster, it is
great for finding waypoints, running away, and moving quickly between
targets.
I will be sticking with act two mercenaries for the majority of the game. In normal blessed aim will be necessary to connect with enemies in act five before level thirty. By nightmare and hell Damage will be the biggest issue, which is when I will switch to a might mercenary.
